Caroline Christensen
OWNER AND FOUNDER

Caroline Christensen created Music with Care in 2015 with a vision of empowering students of all ages through music. She has been singing since she was three and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University. After Western, she went on to become the first Canadian to complete
post-graduate studies at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark as a member of its Complete Vocal Academy where she learned how to sing and teach across all genres of music using a healthy, technique-based approach. She has been a member of numerous music ensembles including the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus and Toronto Youth Musical Theatre Company. Caroline continues to communicate her passion for music through teaching and performing across Toronto.

GUITAR, UKULELE, & PIANO TEACHER

John Amato believes that music education is for everyone and is committed to making learning fun and effective for his students. John has been singing and performing since the age of 8 and holds a degree in jazz voice from Humber College.  John grew up singing in choirs, performing in musicals, and singing jazz. He has performed various shows across Ontario and the United States as a jazz singer. He currently leads and arranges for his own band “The John Amato Tentet” and can be found performing and singing all over Ontario.

Tyler Adams is passionate about sharing the joy of music and delivering music education in a fun, fulfilling, and effective way for his students. He started playing guitar at the age of 7 and has performed in numerous settings on the guitar, piano, and trumpet. Tyler currently enjoys performing Jazz music at various venues around Toronto. He also enjoys playing and performing on the ukulele. Tyler studied Jazz and Classical guitar at the University of Toronto and is set to advance his teacher’s education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at UofT.

Veronika Anissimova
VOICE & PIANO TEACHER

REKHA’s forte instruments are the Classical, Electric, and acoustic Guitars as well as the Piano, Bass, Ukulele, and more. She’s been passionately teaching music for nearly 20 years to students of all ages, beginner to advanced. She enjoys teaching those select creative minds wishing to enhance their skills in their instrument and performances. She designs each lesson based on the student’s ability to grow and develop using innovative methods acquired from years of teaching. REKHA combines academic, improvisational, and modern techniques along with accompaniment to accelerate the learning process. REKHA attended the University of Guelph where she acquired her Bachelor of Arts Degree, in 91’, with a Specialization in Fine Arts, including additional Private Training at the Royal Conservatory of Music for Art Song & Oratorio, the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin for Opera, and finally at the Danforth School of Music for Classical/Contemporary/Rock Guitar. Additionally, REKHA has a background in acting, musical theatre, live performance narration, and dance as well as recording in world-class studios. She received recognition from Stonebridge Guitars (Czech Republic & CA) as a new emerging female fingerpicking guitar artist and has been featured on various internet blogs, composer websites, and radio. REKHA’s tracks can be heard on rekhamilkyocean.com and found on various popular online websites such as SoundCloud, BandCamp, YouTube, Spotify, and more.

Veronika is delighted to join Music with Care, following up on a range of teaching and performance experiences! Winner of the 2014 National Gold Medal at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Veronika holds a MMus (2018) in historical voice performance and a BMus (Honours, 2016) in piano and Italian studies from the University of Toronto. Fluent in multiple languages, she has served on Opera Atelier’s educational outreach team and enjoys contributing text translations to VMII, a groundbreaking digital resource for early vocal music. Cindy Yu
PIANO & VOICE TEACHER

Cindy is passionate about teaching and delivering music education in a way that is fun, fulfilling, and constructive for her students. She started playing the piano at the age of 5 and has performed in various recitals and competitions, and obtained her ARCT Piano Performer’s Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Aside from the piano, Cindy also enjoys playing the violin and singing. She has sung in numerous choirs, including the MacMillan Singers at the University of Toronto and Babel Chorus. She studied Classical piano at the University of Toronto for her Bachelor of Music, and is set to advance her teacher’s education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at UofT.

Rita Yung
PIANO & VOICE TEACHER
 

Rita Yung received her Master of Music in Composition from the University of Texas at Austin and her Bachelor of Music degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Music Technology and Digital Media at the University of Toronto. As a pianist and music educator, Yung received her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London (ATCL) and majored in piano while studying for her B.A degree. While studying at UT Austin, she worked as a teaching assistant for a cross-faculty undergraduate course about Digital Music and Production. She has extensive experience working with students from different backgrounds and advising personalized study plans and learning materials. In the past two years, Yung worked as a research assistant at the Education University of Hong Kong for several projects about self-regulated learning and virtual education for both early childhood and higher education. As a composer, Yung enjoys working with both acoustic and electronics. Her works have been featured worldwide in many concerts and conferences.

Maryam Toumrai Zunuzi
VOICE & PIANO TEACHER

Maryam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University (music and theatre,) and a grade 10 certificate in vocal performance from Royal Conservatory of Music.  She has sung on stage and in recordings as soloist with orchestras, choirs, and opera.  Her singing is also featured in Canadian documentaries, and on CBC radio.  She enjoys teaching voice and piano, and she loves helping people of all ages to come closer to the art and science of music in order to find joy and confidence in their own abilities as singers or musicians.

Matthew Muggeridge
VOICE & PIANO TEACHER

Matthew is a Countertenor, pianist and teacher based in Toronto. He earned his undergraduate degree in Music from McGill University, specializing in Historical Music Performance of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Notably, he was honoured with the Early Music America-IDEA Workshop Scholarship and has participated in several prestigious artists training programs such as the Internationale Bachakademie-Stuttgart and the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute. Matthew is an active classical vocalist in Canada and frequently collaborates with the Juno award-winning ensemble, L’Harmonie des Saisons, Trinity Bach Project, and the Theatre of Early Music. Matthew is a dedicated music educator who focuses on an interactive and exploratory approach to teaching music. His pedagogy emphasizes the development of strong music literacy skills while nurturing a lasting passion for music in his students.
